Facts about Roger Wehrli:

Roger Wehrli was a standout in all athletics at King City High School until he graduated in 1965.

He played for the University of Missouri on a scholarship for 4 years.

1969: Drafted in the 1st Round to the St. Louis Cardinals, 19th overall pick.

 Cardinals Rookie of the year 1969.

40 career Interceptions, 19 fumble recoveries

5 time All-Pro Selections, 7 Time Pro Bowl Selection

NFL All-Decade Team of the 70's

Charter member of University of Missouri Hall of Fame 1990

 King City is the hometown of Children's author Clyde Robert Bulla

       

Clyde Robert Bulla was the author of over eighty books for children.

His first book, The Donkey Cart, was published in 1946.

His autobiography, A Grain of Wheat: A Writer Begins, was published in 1985.

 

 King City is on the Old Jefferson Highway

The Jefferson Highway Ran from the Gulf of Mexico up into Canada.

Today many parts of the old route have been converted into major highways.
